Tennis has Started

Well after not making it to ANY meets after swimming had finished and Ishtar still wanting to find some sort of sport which she enjoys playing, the opportunity came to us to join in a home education run Tennis Class. Turns out it was a good idea to join as not only did Ishtar enjoy her first class but she has made her first friend! and to top that off Konrad loved joining in to have a go too so we had a wonderful time at the first Tennis lesson. It runs for 7 weeks. Ishtar is still determined to go to the local school however and I am at the point where I am strongly considering sending her. I think I might try 2 weeks of her getting up in time to catch the bus and having everything ready for her as I would if she was going to school to see how she likes that. She is not a morning person at all.

The new Home Ed group events list should be out soon so we might make it to some more of those and see how we get on there. If she starts getting some friends around the place we might be lucky and she will be happy with out school.

lost post? Start again....

I was sure i had posted here at the start of Feb...
anyway we moved into our new place on the 18th november.
things are going slowly but we will get where we need to be eventually!
So many things i want to do and sooo many things i need to do.

I have some hemp fleece arriving soon and will be making some trousers for the kidlets and some boosters for my pads.

I will update when I get some more inspiration.

I really need to get my vegie patch ready for planting too but, time and money, time and money.

So, How slack am I?

We completed swimming lessons in feb/march, it is amazing what swimming for an hour a day does for children, even after only 2 weeks she has improved 10 fold. There are some pics somewhere but finding them would be difficult.
She wants to choose 8 endangered animals to do some writing and researching about. I want to get my vegie patch established and ready for planting so she can have a space to learn to grow and look after her own food. I also what to set up a small weather station, so she can record rainfall. wind direction and air temperature.
One day everything will start falling into place.

It's Been a while

So it has been quite a while since I was here and I really need to work on starting up a recording system.

Life has been a bit crazy round here. On the 18th of December we shipped out of the city and headed for 30 acres of lush bush and pasture. Ok, ok, more like 15 acres of bush and 15 acres of hilly cleared land that needs work!
We have a bigger house that is not really crash hot but livable and in the long term we plan to have a new home built. What a learning curve that will be.

So xmas came and went the children had a ball and now can't wait for their birthdays.
We have a new puppy dog, named Chunks, because he threw up on Kurt on the way home from the pet shop. There are 5 turkeys, one has 3 babies. a rooster, 2-3 hens (unsure about one). Somewhere out there there is a lone sheep and goat.

There are a few drakes somewhere too but they seem to stay well away from the house.

3 Dams up in the bush and a nice big water tank store our water, a combustion stove in the kitchen heats the house and the water and also cooks the dinner!

So much work to be done and a massive life journey for everyone involved.

Today we have contacted another home educating mum near us and arranged HEA membership so we will start going to the group meets. Then Ishtar did some art work decorating butterflies and flowers that her nan bought her. While Konrad did some drawing. Next wednesday, heading to the beach for the day. Then Ishtar is thrilled with the idea of going swimming and can't wait to join the group at the pool for 2 whole weeks worth of swimming.

I on the other hand still have boxes here everywhere that are not getting sorted out fast. with a month left to do it,so our housewarming festival is not a disaster.

House is on it's way

So there where more hiccups and more solutions and everything is done, short of signing the loan contracts. We will be moving house before christmas with any sort of luck, the kids will have a wonderful christmas at our new house. We will be thrilled and everything will fall into place.

Going to adelaide for the National Joyous Birth festival on the weekend. Staying for 10 days with my sister and taking the sproglets to the Monarto Zoo.

What a wonderful thing to do, sorta dreading the plane trips tho.
